UD fabric is a unidirectional (usually warp) parallel arrangement of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fibers, bonded by thermoplastic resin forming, and then by 0°/90° orthogonal lamination composite non-textile materials.
UD fabric is a flexible composite sheet, generally used for bulletproof materials, and the bulletproof layer can be composed of multiple layers of weft less cloth. The biggest advantage of weft less cloth is that there is no buckling of fibers in the tissue structure, and the energy of flicking or knife cutting spreads out faster from the contact point. Secondly, the fiber is not woven and will not bend, so that the mechanical properties such as tensile strength and tensile modulus are maintained at a high rate, which is conducive to the improvement of protective properties.

Applications：
1. Ballistic protection equipment: UHMWPE UD fabric is the main material for manufacturing bulletproof vests, bulletproof helmets, and bulletproof armor plates. Due to its light weight, high strength, and high energy absorption ratio, UHMWPE fiber has become the preferred fiber for individual ballistic protection and is gradually replacing aramid fiber.
2. Industrial protection: The material is also used to manufacture anti-stab and anti-cutting clothing linings and special public anti-riot facilities, with excellent properties such as low density, wear resistance, impact resistance, and high resistance to cutting.
3. Other fields: UHMWPE UD fabric has extensive applications in other industrial fields, such as textile machinery, papermaking machinery, packaging machinery, and general machinery. In textile machinery, UHMWPE is used to manufacture impact-resistant wear-resistant parts; in papermaking machinery, it is used to manufacture water scraper blades and suction box cover plates.
