
NFPA 1951, the standard for technical rescue accident protection suits, specifies requirements for three different types:
(1)Utility suit: Provides basic flame resistance and high levels of breathability to protect the wearer from physical hazards.
(2)Rescue and recovery suits: Based on utility suits, they provide a barrier against blood-borne pathogens to prevent the wearer from becoming infected by bodily fluids.
(3)CBRN Assemblies:provide limited protection against chemical, biological agents and radioactive particles during incidents involving chemical warfare agents or weapons of mass destruction.
